Google Knows ALL The Best SEO Tricks

Many website owners think they can pick a few key words and strategically include them in their copy to improve their SEO. Some even create a few gateway pages and think their work is done. But today’s Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is becoming more complex as Google has been watching all of our tricks.

The Google Searching engine updates in the past few years have really been about improving the delivery of the best content to whatever device you are using to search.

That doesn’t mean SEO is completely irrelevant…just different.

You still need those keywords, page titles and good descriptions on every website page. But there is a new emphasis on relevant content, educational information and interesting facts.

While little tricks might rank you higher temporarily, as they fall short of Google’s overall goal. Your improved ranking will only be short term if you don’t have the content to back it up.

What do we say about improving your website ranking:

      1. – Create useful page titles. Make sure that your title is useful, descriptive and relevant to the actual page itself.
      2. – Use informative URLs. The URL (web address) of a page appears below the title, with words from the user’s query in bold. Your URLs should be simple and readable. Think informative. For example click here
      3. – Provide relevant descriptive page descriptions. The text under the URL displayed on a search is usually taken from the description meta tag on the page. Descriptions should be descriptive and unique to each page of your site.
      4. – Add your business to Google Places to help Google display location information in search results.
      5. – Manage your sitelinks. Sitelinks (sub-links to individual pages on your site) are meant to help users navigate your site.

Here are some questions to ask yourself about your webpage content:

      1. – Would you trust the information in this article?
      2. – Is the article useful and informative, with content beyond the merely obvious?
      3. – Does it provide original information, reporting, research or analysis?
      4. – Does it provide more substantial value than other pages in search results?
      5. – Would you expect to see this in a printed magazine, encyclopedia or book?
      6. – Is your site a recognized authority on the subject?

The key to success SEO is creating content that users WANT to share and making sure users can easily find it.
