HOW DOES IT WORK?
Strategic planning does not have to be complicated. I use
the AHO Method for Strategic Planning, which is a proven
process developed by Jim and Tina AHO of AHO Consulting,
Inc. The basic process is as follows, but can be modified
to suit your Credit Union, if needed:
1. I work with you to analyze your financials, using software
developed by AHO Consulting, a firm specializing in Credit
Union planning. Together, we build certain growth for loans,
deposits and members. This will show us a graphical view
of your history and possible future.
2. Before I arrive, you send me copies of any brochures,
marketing collateral or anything else to help me to get
to know your Credit Union. I will also research your competition,
pricing, and community before I arrive.
3. At a meeting with you and your management team, we
develop specific tactics for meeting financial and other
goals. We will tackle strategies for Loans, Deposits, Membership,
Technology, Human Resources and Facilities.
4. At a meeting with your Board and management team, we
discuss the financial plan, present our ideas and strategies
for meeting those goals and finalize our business plan.
We will also prioritize the strategies.
5. At the end of the meeting, everyone walks away with
a printed business plan and you know exactly what needs
to be completed in the next year.
